Position Description

We're looking for a passionate backend engineer who loves focusing their time on architecture, scalability, reliability and performance of the systems they build. This role will be working directly on our core backend platform and microservices that enable our product team to build cutting edge products for our customers. You will be helping to guide our python based backend microservice platform in making it easy to consume by our product teams, allow for our backends to dynamically scale with not only speed but also reliability and stability in mind.

This is a very dynamic and challenging role in architecting the growth and maturing of distributed systems at scale. You are going to be gathering understanding from business objectives, our product developers, and our infrastructure engineers to help mature our services to address their cross-cutting needs with well architected and well executed designs.

Your Work Will Focus On

  • Architecture & Scale - You will lead the architecture on your team, gathering insights, employing DDD to determine the best tech to address our customers needs.
  • Ownership - You own the products / features you ship. From initial design, to deployment, test automation to performance monitoring, you own what you build end-to-end
  • Development - Best practices, craftsmanship, well thought out code and mentorship to your team is your ideal and you preach this in your work and with your team.
  • Quality - Pair programming, lunch & learns, mentorship, you will teach and help grow the team around you in not only pushing new features but also keeping the utmost quality in everything we build.
  • Research - You will help guide the tech stack across our multitude of products, how they fit in to our architecture, and their growth & maintenance plans amongst our growing product set.
