The Marketing and Communications Manager, Digital Health Solutions is responsible for end-to-end execution of a wide range of marketing deliverables in support of the DHS program. This role will work with internal and external stakeholders to understand business objectives and health innovation community (including start-ups, incubators, accelerators etc. also known as the “digital health ecosystem”) needs to generate engaging marketing and communication materials that capture the attention of the audiences, drive interest in DHS and differentiate Sun Life as we continue to build a credible voice on health. These materials could be delivered through electronic, web, print, events, sponsorships, radio and video media.

The Marketing and Communications Manager, Digital Health Solutions will define and work toward timelines that reflect the needs driving each deliverable and ensure that all materials meet established brand guidelines.

What You’ll Contribute

Enhance and bring to life a comprehensive internal and external communications strategy in support of DHS objectives, collaborating closely with our internal partners to ensure aligned messages

Manage the development, design, production coordination and delivery of all DHS communication initiatives including but not limited to:

Press / news releases

Social media presence (including content strategy)

Media interviews

Develop and foster strong relationships with the digital health ecosystem across Canada

Provide the required communications support for the launch and ongoing phases of DHS pilots and verticals including:

Writing or editing communications intended for the digital health ecosystem or other audiences as required 

Research and outreach activities to engage organizations in the external digital health ecosystem

Manage communication and insights plans for each pilot to ensure initiatives are well informed, known and engaging for target audiences, including providing internal distribution channels with appropriate marketing and communication materials to externally refer solutions to Clients post-pilot

Measure and report on awareness, marketing and communication results

Provide marketing and communications support to all DHS work streams

Valuable Knowledge and Experience

Exposure to start-up environment and culture

Knowledge of digital health ecosystem communication vehicles, audiences and best practices

Understand the external perceptions of large financial service organizations and have creative ideas to help Sun Life break out of the mold

Demonstrated success working in a dynamic, matrixed environment (i.e., partnering across functions in rapidly changing setting)

Knowledge of Group Benefits, Client Solutions, Group Retirement Services and/or Individual Insurance business processes an asset

Bilingualism (English / French) an asset

3 – 5 years of related experience, preferably in a start-up organization, the health, insurance or financial services industry
